A Fresh Look for Flanders at IPM

IPM Essen once again confirmed its role as a global leader in the horticultural trade fair industry. From January 28 to 31, 2025, 1,434 exhibitors from 45 countries participated in the event. More than 40,000 visitors, both national and international, attended the fair.

The Flemish exhibitors, who have remained loyal to IPM since its inception, were also present. Under the umbrella of VLAM (Flanders’ Agricultural Marketing Board), 32 companies showcased their products at the newly designed joint stands in halls 2, 6, and 8, which stood out for their colour and playful design.

The Flemish exhibitors praised the high quality of the professional visitors. In addition to their loyal customers, the companies also welcomed many new clients.

For two companies, attending the trade fair proved especially rewarding:

  • Rudy Raes Bloemzaden won the highly sought-after "IPM Innovation award 2025" in the spring-flower category for the Primula acaulis ‘Flamenco Mix’. Its fringed flowers resemble flamenco dancers, which inspired the variety's name. The ‘Flamenco Mix’ stands out for its high quality and long-lasting durability, and is available in six colours.

  • Plant Select received the "International Grower of the Year" award from the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) in the "Young Plants" category. Using advanced in vitro propagation techniques, the company produces compact, bushy tree plants under the "One Boo" brand. In addition to bamboo, Plant Select specializes in the propagation of hydrangeas, Ilex, and Agapanthus.
Plant Select was named "International Grower of the Year" by AIPH.
